The first consultation is usually free. There's no charge, and no obligation
As Independent Financial Advisers we can advise on a wide range of financial topics. We use advanced computer software to research, compare and select the most suitable products that are currently available from the whole of the market, in order to maximize the benefits to our clients.
You'll receive our help to review your current financial situation and reach a realistic assessment of your likely needs. For this, you'll need to set aside some time to talk to us - the first consultation is usually free. There's no charge, and no obligation. From that initial exploratory meeting, we will advise you of how we may be able to assist you to achieve your financial objectives and what costs will be involved. (Please see "How we are paid" for full details).
Depending on your instructions we will carry out, a full needs analysis, based on your current status, and taking into account any specific plans and/or targets you may have. We will then develop a strategy and present our recommendations on anything from a short term financial objective to a lifetime financial plan, followed up with regular reviews.
In this manner, you will always have a personal consultant to call concerning your financial affairs and aspirations for the future.
You'll also have our help to decide how much provision you need to make, and the order of priority in dealing with your finances. And of course it will all be sensibly balanced in relation to your current income and affordability.
On receiving an enquiry we invite a prospective client to come to either our office for a preliminary meeting or we can arrange to visit you in your home or place of work. The purpose of the meeting is to provide personal involvement from the start, to establish whether we are able to assist with your needs and objectives and to discuss how we would be paid for our services should we be instructed to proceed. There is no charge for this preliminary meeting and no obligation on either side.
After the initial consultation, we will agree with you whether you pay us a fee, or we are paid out of the cost of any financial product you buy (commission), or a combination of the two. In any event, if as a result of our initial meeting we undertake to carry out work on your behalf, there will be a standard fee payable of £295.
Commission is paid to an IFA firm by a provider, usually an insurance company or an investment house for the successful placing of business. The commission is included within the provider’s normal product charges. The amount of commission is based on a percentage of the premiums payable or sums invested.
We will always tell you about any commission we earn, and it will be taken into account in working out our relevant fees.
Fees will usually be based on time spent and evaluated at a rate per hour calculated to recover our costs. Fees sometimes attract an additional VAT charge whereas commissions, under current legislation, do not.
Whether we take our remuneration by way of commission or fees will be a matter of discussion and agreement, and no charges for fees will be made without prior notification in writing.
